Gable Steveson, the Olympic Gold Medalist, has recently opened up about his departure from WWE, revealing a surprising reason behind his exit. In an exclusive interview on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Steveson candidly admitted that he wasn't giving his all to WWE, and here's why. 'I wasn't giving my 100% to the business,' he revealed. But what's even more intriguing is his explanation for this decision. Steveson, who was signed to WWE from September 2021 to May 2024, wanted to compete in legitimate sports, which created a conflict with his commitment to professional wrestling. He stated, 'I had a great experience. I have nothing wrong with anybody there. TKO was great, 'Triple H' Paul Levesque was great, Stephanie, Vince… everybody was great.' However, his lingering competitive drive in amateur wrestling made it impossible to fully commit to WWE. 'I just had a competitive drive that I needed to get out. When you have that gap is there, you can’t do both. I was trying to bridge both, and I wasn’t giving my 100% to the business,' he explained. Despite his release, Steveson has no hard feelings towards WWE. In fact, he expressed a desire to return to WWE in the future, specifically mentioning a goal to return as a multi-time UFC World Heavyweight Champion. 'I would love to go back in the future. I would love to do a sport and go out there and dominate,' he said. 'I would love to go if it meant well, and I would do it again most definitely because I have no hard feelings to them.' This statement raises an interesting question: What does the future hold for Gable Steveson in the world of professional wrestling and legitimate sports? And will WWE welcome him back with open arms?
